Did you Know??           That Dan’s Hole was an artist's dream scene 50 years ago and was put on canvas by several well known painters including 'Group of Seven' artist Arthur Lismer. Another painting, which is considered one of Newfoundland's most  critical acclaimed  was painted by Franklin Arbuckle O.S.A., R.C.A.  All of the  paintings was painted from the same area  that this modern photo was taken.

Tucked  away under Blow me Down highlands is the community of Blow me Down. Settled in the late 1700’s or early 1800’s, this unique part of Port de Grave have always had a small fishing presence as well as being a prime area for animal keeping. Off the beaten part from the main roadway Blow me Down, though not well know to the average tourist, has a nature beauty, from its towering headlands which flow out to Port de Graves most southern point cumulating at M’lard’s Head. At the entrance to Blow me Down is Dans Hole also referred to over the years as Dan’els Hole, Darrels Hole and Dallons Hole.
