PORT DE GRAVE ECONOMY
Portdegrave's economy is an example of what is right in the Newfoundland workforce and is a model for future developments. Tens of millions of new dollars are created each year through the modern fishery of the harbour and through harvesting efforts of the 100% owned and operated provincial fishing enterprises.
Along with the dozens of fishing enterprises, a modern multi-species plant employs hundreds of people, and an international consortium also generates to the greater economic welfare of the people of the peninsula and surrounding areas. Port de Grave's enterprising people are considered among the leaders in fishery matters for the Province, as was their ancestors, and are on the cutting edge of the latest technology in boat building, marine technology and fish harvesting methods.
This up front initiative should aid in the modern progression of the economy of the area and the future well being of Newfoundland and Labrador.
