This picture was taken on Kelly's Island around 1926. The men are there cutting boughs for the fish flakes. Sitting on a pile of boughs getting a mug-up are men from Hibb's Hole (L - R): William Henry Lear, Henry Lear, Frank Lear (Brother of Henry), James John Lear (Brother of William Henry and father of Henry and Frank).

Eli Porter (b. May 13 1866) son of  Robert and Ellen Porter of Hibb's Hole.

Porter, while working with his friend James John Lear in Dominion #2 coal mine, Glace Bay, was killed on June 2, 1902 after only one week on the job.

James John Lear of Hibbs Cove, (grandfather of Henry & Adrian Lear) posing for a photo. James John had three sons,  James John (Don), Henry, and Frank and a little girl named Jane, who died as an infant.
